Sam Johnson

Native to Portland, Oregon and graduate of Lincoln High School, Sam Johnson had early athletic achievements in football, AAU basketball, track & field, soccer, baseball and swimming.

Sam joined the United States Air Force at the age of 18, reached the rank of Staff Sergeant in 3.5 years of service and managed numerous subordinates throughout his 7 Active Duty Service years.

Here is a list of just some of Sam Johnson’s other accomplishments:

  • He founded the CrossFit Gym “Combat Ready CrossFit” in 2012, a no-cost CrossFit gym for military and their families.
  • He served as Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of 153 Honor Guard Funeral Services for the fallen.
  • While stationed in Japan he began competing in CrossFit during his free time as part of the Reebok CrossFit Asia Team.
  • In August 2013, Sam became Head CrossFit and Sports Performance Coach at CrossFit in Tualatin, Oregon.
  • Founded StrengthFarm in Portland, Oregon: an integrated fitness center specializing in wellness, strength and conditioning, and nutrition.
  • Most recently, Sam competed in the USA Olympic Weightlifting Oregon State Championships in June 2016 and placed 1st.
